Our Philosophy
RESULTS = functional resistance training for increased lean body mass, cardio or voluntary exercise expenditure for calorie burning and oxidizing body fat, and proper nutrition to meet metabolic needs. It’s that simple!
Based on your body composition goals, it’s calories in versus calories out! Or positive energy balance versus negative energy balance.
Lean Body Mass plays a key role in any type of weight-management program. Whether you’re interested in fat-loss or muscle gain, building lean mass is a cornerstone to making changes in body-composition. Lean tissue is more metabolically active than fat. Your goal is to increase your lean body mass.
Voluntary Exercise (cardio) is one of two activities that contribute to energy expenditure (the other is the fueling of basal metabolism). Voluntary exercise (cardio or aerobic interval training) is the most immediate change you can make to help increase daily caloric expenditure. Whether you are interested in fat-loss or muscle gain, increasing energy expenditure through consistent daily aerobic exercise will ensure that weight-loss is due to fat-loss rather than loss of muscle tissue.
Nutrition fuels an individual's metabolic needs, with the number of calories consumed dependent upon the change of body composition you desire. To achieve fat-loss, a negative energy balance must be present. However, the negative energy balance must not fall below the requirements of the basal metabolic rate. When the basal metabolism receives all the necessary fuel requirements, it can function efficiently enough to burn the unneeded fat stores and not lean muscle tissue. When calories are eliminated or reduced to a level below what is required by the basal metabolic rate, the diet will have an adverse effect on the individual’s body-composition and health.
Flex-Fit Training focuses on all these aspects to ensure you get the most from your workouts and reach your overall health and fitness goals.
