Services
Flex-Fit Training designs and tailors your training program to help you accomplish your fitness goals. We offer the following services:
Personal Training (one-on-one)
Your fitness training program is carefully and methodically designed after ascertaining your fitness goals, medical history, orthopedic condition and current workout regimen. We also do baseline fitness testing.
Your certified personal trainer works with you to provide professional instruction, motivation, encouragement and accountability to help you successfully achieve your desired fitness goals.
Your training session starts with a proper warm-up, followed by a series of movement preparation exercises, then the body of the workout (your customized program design), a cool-down, and finally, partner assisted static stretching. This encompasses about an hour. The majority of clients train two to three times a week.
Small Group Training (2-3 clients at same time)
Also called "buddy training", all components of small group training are similar to one-on-one personal training, but with a friend, family member or associate. And all at the same time. This type of training mode works well for individuals who seek more accountability, camaraderie and a little extra fun! Each client's program is tailored to them individually, but executed with others. The cost of the session is reduced considerably, making professional training more affordable.
Sports-Specific Training
Sports-specific training improves strength, power, speed, agility, flexibility, balance, stability and core performance for a sport or a set of sports skills. Our sports training programs are customized for the individual and sport. More fitness testing and screening is performed on the sports client than the general fitness client. Emphasis for the athlete is on strength, speed, customized nutritional profile and functional training. Our athletes' workout may consist of flipping large tires, sledgehammering, sled pushing and dragging, sprints dragging a tire, retrieving fire hoses, etc.
Senior Fitness
Our senior fitness programs are specifically designed to cater to the needs of aging individuals. Exercise has become mandatory for the majority of senior people and our fitness programs offer exercises that are safe for senior citizens to follow. Our main aim is to improve cardiovascular fitness, strength, flexibility, balance and stability. At the instructional level, the client is given a progressive exercise program that slowly increases in intensity. The result is that our senior client lives a healthier, more productive and higher quality life due to their senior fitness program.
Nutrition Counseling
Most fitness professionals feel that nutrition is 70-80% of the results equation. With that high percentage, our training programs are complemented by ongoing nutrition counseling. At the core of our nutrition plan is eating clean. What could be better for the human body than to eat foods that are as close to nature as possible? Plus, these foods have more nutrients, vitamins and minerals than the more processed ones. In addition to ongoing nutritional counseling, our clients start out with quality printed nutrition information, are given The Eat-Clean book as a gift and can take advantage of a grocery shop at anytime during their training package. You are what you eat!
Fitness Testing & Assessments
We perform a comprehensive baseline testing protocol at the outset of your program. Instead of focusing on strengths, we find and fix weaknesses. Our assessment and screening tools include:
- body composition taken with skinfold calipers
- blood pressure and resting heart rate
- calculating BMR (basal metabolic rate)
- taking scale weight
- calculating lean mass and fat pounds
- taking circumference measurements
- performing four fitness tests (flexibility, abdominal endurance, cardio-respiratory endurance, upper body muscular endurance)
- 1, 3 or 5 repetition maxes for strength training clients
- postural analysis
- before and after pictures
- functional movement screening
Repeat testing is performed halfway through a training package to adjust the training program accordingly and a post training package testing / assessment is performed.
